As we approach the end of February, I wanted to check in on how you're feeling and share a few ways to cultivate self-love through your Pilates practice.

I truly believe that Pilates is a powerful tool to build self-love and self-care. By tuning into our bodies and celebrating our progress, we can build confidence, resilience, and a deep sense of appreciation for ourselves!

1 | Start with gratitude

Before each Pilates session, take a moment to acknowledge something that you appreciate about yourself. Sometimes, if you struggle with low self worth, it can be difficult finding things you LOVE about yourself…so start small with something you appreciate instead :)

2 | Listen to your body

One of the most important aspects of self-love is learning to listen to your body and honor its needs. This means being willing to take a break when you need it, modifying exercises to suit your body, or pushing yourself to try something new. By tuning in to what feels right for you, you can build trust in your body and cultivate feelings of self-love!

3 | Celebrate your progress

When it comes to Pilates, it's all about progress, not perfection. Instead of focusing on what you can't do, celebrate what you can do and how far you've come. Whether it's being able to hold a plank for a few seconds longer or feeling more centered and grounded during your practice, take a moment to recognize your achievements and celebrate your progress! Small wins are still wins. This can help you build confidence, stay motivated, and cultivate a sense of self-love.

4 | Make it a daily practice

Self-love isn't something that happens overnight - it's a daily practice! Whether it's a quick 10-minute session in the morning or a longer practice in the evening, try to make time for Pilates every day to help reinforce those feelings of self-love and self-care. A bonus tip: during your daily classes, try to repeat a few positive affirmations to yourself throughout the class whenever you are feeling extra challenged! 

5 | Be kind to yourself

Remember to be kind to yourself throughout your Pilates practice and beyond. Whether you're struggling with a particular exercise or simply having a tough day, remind yourself that you're doing the best you can and that's enough!
