To the women chasing big dreams, making bold moves, and showing up for themselves every single day—this is for you.
When I started TF Studio, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. It was the middle of COVID, and I was filming workouts in my tiny mezzanine bedroom in LA, trying to keep quiet because my boyfriend was sleeping just a few feet away. I didn’t have a fancy studio, a team, or a solid business plan—just a camera, a mat, and the belief that movement could change lives.
I started by doing YouTube videos and then live classes, and I was so nervous that nobody would show up. I remember the anxiety before hitting that “Go Live” button, wondering how I would sound or if I would be talking to an empty screen. But slowly, people started joining. Seeing even one person show up gave me the confidence to keep going, and that small community grew into something bigger than I ever imagined.
There were so many moments of doubt. I worried if anyone would sign up, if I was good enough, if this was even worth it. I worked endless hours, poured everything I had into building something from nothing, and still felt like I wasn’t doing enough. The pressure, the imposter syndrome, the fear of failing—it was all so real.
But I kept going. Because every message I received from someone who felt stronger, more confident, or more at home in their body reminded me why I started. TF Studio has never just been about Pilates. It’s about showing up for yourself, even on the hard days. It’s about building something that gives back—to yourself and to others.
The Real, Unfiltered Truth of Being a Female Founder
Being a female founder means wearing every hat. It means launching, scaling, and problem-solving while also dealing with self-doubt and external pressure. It’s exhilarating, exhausting, fulfilling, and sometimes completely terrifying. There’s no perfect path, no magic formula—just the willingness to keep going, to learn from mistakes, and to trust in yourself, even when it feels impossible.
The Importance of Resilience & Self-Care in Leadership
I’ve learned that resilience doesn’t mean pushing through at all costs—it means knowing when to pause. There were days I pushed myself to the point of burnout, thinking that success meant working more. But real strength comes from balance. A 10-minute Pilates session to reset, a walk to clear my head, stepping away to come back stronger—it all matters.
Because just like a business, you need a strong foundation. And that starts with taking care of yourself.
Strength Comes in Many Forms
Strength isn’t just about taking business risks or making big moves. It’s also about:
-
Asking for help when you need it.
-
Saying no to things that don’t serve you.
-
Letting go of perfection.
-
Believing in yourself, even when it’s hard.
So, to every woman out there building something—whether it’s a business, a movement, or simply a better version of yourself—keep going. You are capable. You are worthy. And you are never alone.
