PREPARING FOR — THE HOLIDAYS

November is here!

 

With Thanksgiving coming up towards the end of the month, we're focusing on slowing down and making space for the busy holiday season. Whilst this is a period the year that many look forward to, for some it can be a stressful time which takes its toll on mental and physical health.

 

So, how can you prepare for the holidays?

 

1 | Plan ahead — Create a holiday calendar with important dates and tasks to stay organized. Start holiday shopping and preparations early to avoid last-minute stress.

 

2 | Set realistic expectations — Recognize that perfection isn't necessary. It's okay if things don't go as planned. Prioritize tasks and commitments to avoid overextending yourself.

 

3 | Practice Mindfulness — Dedicate time each day to tune into yourself. Journal, meditate or practice deep breathing to reduce stress. If you're not sure where to start, try out the Meditation section in our library.

 

4 | Take time for yourself — During the holiday season, we usually spend more time with others than usual. Carve out more time for yourself so that the time you spend with family and friends is even more enjoyable and meaningful.
