Top Tips for Prioritizing Movement and Self-Care in Busy Schedules


Are you struggling to fit self-care and movement into your busy schedule? Over the years I've noticed a big difference in my mental health & wellness as a whole when I take the time to prioritize the activities that make me feel good in both mind and body…For example, I love to start my mornings with a quick meditation & journaling session (Leo's meditations inside of TF Studio are my favourite). Do I always feel like I have the time to do so? Not always! But I prioritize them because I know it makes a difference to my day!

Same with adding Pilates into my day –– it instantly elevates my mood & helps me stay productive :)

So, with it being back to school season, I wanted to share some of my TOP TIPS so that you can continue to look after YOU, even as times start to get busier.

TIP NO.1 | Consistency

My first & favourite tip is to focus on is CONSISTENCY! On busy days, it's not realistic that you will always be able to have an hour long morning routine followed by a full workout. It's okay to take the pressure off! Rather than focusing on getting everything in your day, aim for consistency! Even just 10 mins a day adds up and makes a difference.

Consistency creates routine & balance :)

For me, this means my movement for the day is sometimes just a quick burn from TF Studio followed by a minute of deep breathing. (This is also why I created the QUICK BURN section in TF Studio where there’s classes to choose from ranging from 5 to 15 mins, perfect for busy days!)

TIP NO.2 | Book it in

My second tip is to BOOK IN your movement & self care as if it were a meeting or appointment. By adding this into my schedule, I find that I am able to commit to it a lot easier. This is also why I love to host live classes in TF Studio –– they are the perfect pick me up if you're needing a little extra support or accountability.

TIP NO.3 | Create time

My third tip is to change your perspective around taking care of your mind and body in busy times. Taking care of yourself is a priority! A common reason we don't nourish or move our bodies in busy times is because “we don't have time.” I love to tell myself that it's not about having time, it's about CREATING time for what matters to me.

This mindset shift helps a lot!
